---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before I start my introduction, I would like to thank Lucky, at One Mile at a Time, for fantastic trip reports and great tips on travel which inspired me to start my own travel blog.  My first trip report will be written in similar format as Lucky's as a way to pay tribute.

Lufthansa stopped releasing first class award space in advance to Star Alliance partners programs earlier this year. However they are quite generous at releasing those seats within 14 days of departure time. I have always been a big fan of the B747 series, needless to say, I was very excited when Lufthansa took delivery of the brand new B747-8, and I had been monitoring their First Class availability of the Washington to Frankfurt route since.

I finally pulled the trigger in mid August, using Aeroplan, and BA Avios miles, to book the following flights:
Aug-22: LH419 Washington Dulles to Frankfurt in first class
Aug-23: LH710 Frankfurt to Tokyo Narita in first class
Aug-24: NH909 Tokyo Narita to Hong Kong in business class
Aug-24: TG607 Hong Kong to Bangkok in first class
Aug-26: TG640 Bangkok to Tokyo Narita first class
Aug-27: CX521 Tokyo Narita to Hong Kong business Class
There are a few more legs from this trip that I won't be covering in this report.
Here is a map routing of the entire trip:

For me, the highlights of this trip includes:

  1. Flying the New B747-8 for the first time.
  2. Trying out the New Thai Airways' new first class seats.
  3. Spending quality time at First class lounges in Frankfurt and Bangkok.

Anyways, please fasten your seatbelts, stow your tray tables, and make sure your seat is in its upright and locked position. Our flight is about to take off.
